I’m Martin, and my journey into photography began in 2000 at the age of 17 with a Minolta SLR. My transition to digital photography started with a Nikon D200. I shared my first images on DeviantArt, and in April 2012, I created a profile on the brand-new Android version of Instagram. The rest is history. ;-)

Twelve years and over 2,600 posts later on my main account, @widenka, I’ve remained loyal to photography. Until 2023, I captured all my posts using a smartphone. Samsung Galaxy devices were my go-to for a long time. Since 2024, I’ve been posting most of my content using the Sony Alpha 7 IV. Most recently, I’ve started shooting with my Leica D-Lux 8.

Beyond photography, I bring a wealth of expertise in social media. I served as Head of Social Media at one of Europe’s largest tour operators, where I honed my skills in storytelling and audience engagement. I’ve also shared my knowledge through speeches on social media in the travel industry at renowned events such as the World Tourism Forum in Turkey, Angola, and Dubai.

My experience as a content creator, coupled with a deep understanding of social media dynamics, enables me to craft impactful visuals and connect with audiences effectively.
